About the Presenter
Jason Troyer, PhD
• PhD in Counseling Psychology (APA Accredited)
• I resigned as an Associate Professor of Psychology & Asst. Dean of Academics after 14 years at a SLAC
• After 6 years, my side-businesses had grown to replace my salary; I have been fully self-employed since 2018
• I am writing a book about how professors can use their expertise to start a side-business and earn extra money. I’m using the webinar to get feedback on some of the content and share what I’ve learned. Kind of like when a comedian tests content at a small club before their Netflix special — except this webinar probably won’t be very funny. Seriously, don’t expect good jokes.

Webinar — FAQs
-
Yes.
-
I’m writing a book about side-businesses for professors. The best way to learn if my content makes sense is to teach it and get feedback.
This is the webinar I wish I could attend 10 years ago. -
Nope. I’m not selling anything. If you want to be notified when my book “Side-Businesses for Professors” is published, you can sign up on my email list. But I don’t have any services or products to sell.
-
No problem. I’ll be using a Zoom Meeting - but you can keep your camera turned off and use an alias for your Zoom name. I will never publish or share the names or email addresses of webinar attendees.
-
I’ll record the presentation and will post it here when I’m done. (I will also be taking questions, but to protect confidentiality, I’m not going to share that part).
-
Nope. I’m only going to discuss starting side-businesses.
-
I plan to present for about 40 minutes and will reserve about 20 minutes for Q&A. You can drop off the call at any time.
-
Definitely not. My advice is designed to help anyone turn their expertise into income by starting a side-business. You can be a graduate student, an adjunct, a K-12 teacher, or anyone with specialized expertise. I will try to include examples from a wide-variety of different academic fields and topics.
-
Then you are a perfect fit for this webinar.
-
Yes I am. If you’d like to be notified of the book’s release, you can add your name to my email list here.
*I promise that I will NOT share your name or contact info with anyone. I will also NOT add you to any email lists without your explicit permission. Seriously. I hate when people do that. Enrollment simply tells me how many people will be attending.
I also promise that I will not waste your time. This is NOT a sales pitch for an MLM, a high-ticket course, a coaching program, or the secrets that only I know. This is my advice for how you can use your expertise to earn additional income. No pitch. No surprises.
